International Farmall Cub & Cultivators & Side Dresser

I know that there was a previous one listed for this price ... but this is unreal .... at least it provided a :big yuk: yuk ...

One would think at that price the headlights would at least be original and the battery wasn't held in with bungee cords :big give up:

Rudi,
That guy is ALWAYS on e-bay with a bunch of tractors. I actually think that it is a dealer who likes to restore old equipment because several tractors are always fixed up like this one (an actually if you look closely, there's typically something not quite right about the restoration, either wrong parts or wrong paint colors, etc.). Then he lists popular items at unreasonably high reserves, using e-bay as "free advertising". Take a look at his other auctions now. He has a 140 with a price of $3000 on it, and a 154 lo boy that's only bid for $405 right now. I think that BigDog or someone there in central Ohio knows who this guy/dealer is as we've seen his equipment on our site before.

He does offer free local pickup. That looks like a John Blue sidedresser. I think (since I have one) that explains the higher than normal asking price  John

I'm a rookie correct police officer - even my eye picked up at least six issues in 10 seconds. I did have to point them out to my better-half as she's getting ready for work.

1. Battery Box
2. White Grill
3. Black Headlights
4. Front Wheel Rims
5. Tie On Seat Cover
6. Paint Over-Spray on the Gear Shift Knob
7. It looks like a 12v battery or a very large 6v.

He posts his sales with out hitting the decimal all the time. That gives it the high price. It will come back later with the correct price of about $500.00 with a reserve. I think he uses Ebay to get an idea of a tractors value and then posts it on Craigslist.

That is Tim Gray who is selling this, he is a little over an hour from me. Ralph had issues with him in the past. Here is some interesting reading on his antics. https://www.google.com/#hl=en&sclient=p ... 40&bih=731

Even with an extra zero - I'd expect it to be accurately restored.

One of the reasons why I posted this was as a headsup/learning thread. There are unscrupulous folks out there and a lot of folks new to the tractor world have faired poorly because of unscrupulous people. I sorta knew of this guy (the Georgetown OH was the clue) - which led to the idea.

It does provide a daily chuckle as well and that too is good for the soul :D

I'm starting to think he deliberately leaves out the decimal point then goes back and corrects it later. It generates free publicity. People see it and post pointers all over the internet. Then everybody else has to go look at it.

Pretty much the same as the used car dealer that smashes a windshield in his TV ads (except this stunt is free).

I didn't really notice this in the first pic, although now it is quite prominent ..

Then looking I spied this:

Looks like the drive chain is missing from the sprocket on the side dresser to the drive wheel sprocket bolted to the rear hub.

Rudi, I saw the drive wheel on the rear wheel. Was actually going to ask what it was for. In the new pictures you can see it clearly.

It looks as if he has wrapped the chain around the steering post to keep it with the tractor. Probably not "installed" for ease of getting on and off the tractor since the side dresser isn't being used

And now it did. He usually doesn't add the reserve part until after the price is adjusted. He has done this with other items as well.

The Cub Tim refers to in this thread refers to another from the same seller that was high dollar at first. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=77814
