Use of Webbing?

Hi all, Steiner and other sites sell this --- http://www.steinertractor.com/ABC494-fuel-tank-webbing?&TF=C30B10B5ABB6

When we got our 48 Cub in the mid-60's I think I recall something like this being used around the dash and rear part of the fuel tank. Am I imagining this? If not - Does anyone have pictures of how and where this is used?

Ken

I have never seen it used on a Cub and there is no listing in the parts book.

That material is typically used between the gas tank and a supporting member. Your '29 Regular used that material between the gas tank and the vertical support that it sits on. It was also under the straps the secure the tank.

I'm sure the material is to keep any vibration from wearing through the gas tank, potentially causing a leak.

Thanks - So from what I can tell it is NOT used on the F-Cub. Surprised Steiner had it by filter on F-Cub Parts.....Thanks All

It also looks like what is used between the gas tank and mounting support on the Cub Cadets. I have needed to replace that on a Cadet or two and used scraps from something.... will get some to have on hand- thanks for the info. Just goes to show how any question can lead to helping others!

Thanks,

If anyone wants some webbing. Let me know. I have a large roll. Will bring to MidMo Cubfest. You can cut off what your want.

Webbing is about 1/8" thick and just over three inches wide.
