that's fairly simple to replace. the shifter comes of with the 9 or so bolts, as i'm sure you've already done. then the two shifter forks ride on shafts held in place with two detent balls. first and reverse, and someone correct me if im wrong (happened once  ) is the right hand fork and the shaft will move forward far enough to allow removal of the fork. (after you remove the locking bolt. don't drop anything!)
replace it and reverse the proceedure.

You need to stuff rags down into the tranny case far enough to prevent things from going in there, but shallow enough that you can get them out! You then will have to take out the bolt that holds the broken fork. After that use a vise grip and lock it on the rail. Slide the rail towards the rear, but WATCH OUT FOR THE POPPET BALL AND SPRING! IF not, you'll spend alot of time on your knees looking for it! Ask me how I know! Hopefully the pics will help

Here is some good information on shifter fork repair and reinforcement:
http://members.aol.com/pullingtractor/transaxl.htm
It is on the Cadet transaxle but they are basically the same as the Cub.
