No hole for oil pressure gauge

I traded for a '48 cub, that had an oil pressure gauge in the dash. Thought I would put a gauge down on the filter, only to find no hole.
The dash gauge is connected to the pump primer hole. The area where the normal gauge mounts appears to have never been tapped.
Did some cubs come with a dash gauge, or do I have an engine from another purpose [power unit ] or an altered engine.

I have 3 power units, and all are tapped on the filter housing, for the pressure gauge. Ed

The oil pressure gauge line connects at the primer passage behind the hydraulic lines?

I would open up the oil filter housing and check from the inside for signs of the original gauge port, I am wondering if it got filled in at some point.
