That should be an easy adjustment. The clutch pedal that you are pushing needs reset. There are instructions in the manuals for the range of motion, engagement, and full travel of the pedal.

I'm going for worn out throwout bearing. Sounds like the throwout bearing bracket is hitting the pressure plate fingers.

Check for throwout bearing condition and pressure plate finger height.

You need to adjust the pressure plate fingers. I had that exact same noise after splitting my cub to replace the rear main. I figured while I her split, I'd adjust the fingers where I could get at them directly, rather than through the hand hole. Unfortunately, I forgot that they are supposed to be checked with the pressure plate bolted to the flywheel, so, of course, they [url]weren't[/url] properly adjusted after all. (I should have figured something was wrong when they measured so far off, even though I had no problem before splitting :oops:.)

Got her back together, and got that same noise. Adjusted the fingers again (through the hand hole, this time), and she was fine. Adjust the fingers first, then adjust the free play so you have the proper clearance between the TOB and the fingers. A paint stirrer is the perfect thickness for setting the clearance.

The fingers are the three things with the slots in them held in place with the nuts.

Like Boss said, take it up there and he will have that thing humming!!

I had the same thing happen. Had to adjust the fingers, THEN set the peddle adjustment. But I found I had to make it just a tad more freeplay in the peddle than the manual said or I would get the TOB carrier hitting the adjustment screws (TOB was fairly new and in good shape). Don't run it like that or you won't have any screws left to adjust! Good luck.

PS You are welcome to bring it over to Chapel Hill for a minifest...I have to remove my left final for a brake job and will go ahead and replace seals while I am at it. We could get both done at the same time!
