Cubs playing in the dirt

My brother was home a couple weeks ago and we gave a couple of my Cubs a workout.
We hauled 16+ tons of shale to the house for a road.
Sure does beat using shovels and a wheelbarrow - like when we were kids.

I had never graded much with the belly blade, but it went so quickly I didn't take any pics of that playtime.

Looks like it was a good weekend of work with Cubs! I know that I had my share of good hard work with Merlin. Always fun to get them some exercise!!

Yea, the belly blade setup has to be one of the best attachments that IH ever made for the Cub. I've done a lot of ditching and grading with one and it's amazing how well they work. Re-graded about an acre of my back yard in an afternoon, grading out about 100 yards of fresh topsoil.

Love my belly blade too! Got to tweak it a bit since I aquired and installed the bellcrank. The part connected to the rock shaft was starting to rub the fuel tank. Now I have to center the arms on my home made substitute drawbar. I would not take anything for it if I could not get another one.

Nice to have a pile like that available.

Bill...They have started coal strip mining in a new area near me and the overburden is a nice shale mix...The owner dumped one loader bucket in that pile for me to take from.
