There was someone making a 10" drop step. Are these still available? for those who have them do they interfear with your cultivators?

You might check with Barnyard. Don't know about the cultivator part of the question.

Doesn't interfere with my step. Seems like my step is more like 6" maybe 8"? Only problem I see with 10" step is that cult toolbar will possibly be above the step in the raised position.

Steps show up, on E-bay, from time to time. Don't know the sizes, or if they interfere with cultivators. Ed

If it interferes with the cultivators just slip it off and use the cultivators for a step.

I know I can just slip it off but prefer to keep it with the tractor because it will disappear in the black hole in my barn only to resurface years later after I've long forgot about it and purchased another one.

Simple and quick solution;
wire/bungy/tie wrap/duct tape it to the cultivator arm. Cultivators off, step on!

More involved solution:
Drill a 5/8 hole in the step and bolt it onto one of the implement mounting pads (and now step storage )

Really involved solution; clean the barn and find the one you bought four years ago

The steps that I sell are about 9 1/2" from top of platform and top of step. The do not interfere with the cultivators.

Bought one off Ebay some time ago (before joining forum)...Piece of junk...Kicks off to the side when using...Good way to twist ankle and more....I'm sure BarnYards are more expertly thought out...

Barnyard uses heavier steel than the ones on ebay.

The first thing I did when I began offering these was to ask Rick Prentice for permission to use his design after he closed KubKraft, I did the same when I began offering the front receiver. While Rick's step is close to the same as factory he made them a bit different. Rick graciously gave me permission to copy his design and in fact gave me some of his leftover pieces to use. One thing Rick stressed was to use heavier steel in the rods and top support. He said failure to do so would result in the steps sagging over time from the weight of being stepped on. I'm no dummy, when the master spoke, I listened. So far I have not gotten any negative feedback. If anyone ever has a problem with one of my steps due to bending I definitely want to know about it so it can be taken care of.

By the way, I am not a welder, so these are made by a welder friend of mine. I just clean them up and paint them.

The top support not only holds it together but it also prevents the step from swinging backward by pressing against the bottom of the platform. Lighter steel in this area will allow the support to bend backward and force the step toward the ground. Over prolonged use, the rods will bend at the bottom curve when using lighter metal. Of course the user can always bend them back to shape, but the lack of strength will always be there.

I purchased two of these steps about two weeks ago they fit very well and secure,makes it alot easier for a old guy to get on tractor. Shipped very prompt. I am pleased.

I have 4 of Bill's steps. No problems what so ever.

Sure makes it easier to get on my Cubs.
