Fan pulley woes..

Had a good day mowing today and right new the end, I heard a strange metalic sound. After shutting off the Cub, I saw a chunk of metal laying on the mower deck. Upon inspection, I found it to be a piece of the pan pully, the front one which carries the belt from crank to fan. So, checking Ebay I see someone is selling complete fan/pulley,bolt assemblies for 75 bucks. These are new and fitted with sealed bearings.

So, had anyone had and experience with these units with the sealed bearings? And would anyone happen to have the belt number cross reference for NAPA as it got a bit chewed up. Brother, it always seams to be one thing or the other. :)

Where are you located? If you are interested, I have a fan assembly off a '55 cub that was parted out. $40 + shipping or can bring it to Boss' VA Fest this weekend.

I don't know anything about the sealed ones, but when I changed mine for a similar problem I remember reading other posters noting caution when removing and replacing the rear-most nut, not to break the mounting post.

IH fan belt part # is 251428R1

Your NAPA store should be able to cross reference that.

The belts I used were 3310 for the fan and 2230 for the generator. They are about $10 at local stores and about $15 at your dealer.
