Sediment Bowl Gasket Shrunk...AGAIN !

Postby Marion(57 Loboy) » Sat Jun 15, 2013 12:28 pm

This makes the 4th time I've had to make a new one. :x
There is "something" in the gasoline now, or I have a sheet of the wrong type of cork. :x
Either way I'm tired of having to make a new gasket every other time I go to use this thing. :x

I had the same problem would turn gas off because carb would drip once in a while and the cork gasket would dry out and shrink. Bought a rubber gasket from IH and it has worked fine. cost was less than $5.00

I had some punched out of a type of a"rubber" (cannot remember the name right now) by a shop and have a bunch of them. PM me and I should be able to help you out.

Once the cork gasket has been wetted, and then dried, it shrinks. When rewetted, it may or may not seal properly.
