I got around to working on my '49 again today. Had changed the steering housing because it was cracked and had been poorly repaired, and seeped coolant. Most of the work was done and I just needed to button things up - new plug wires and change the oil and filter, new gasket on the fuel shutoff bowl, etc., before putting the hood/fuel tank back on. I decided to just fill the radiator with water and run it to check for leaks before adding anti-freeze. Got my bucket of water and started pouring.....set the bucket down, and called Jamie at JP Tractor, and ordered a new radiator. Water was running out, not dripping, running, faster than I could pour it in.
Radiator didn't leak when I took it off, but after I flushed it out, it set for about a 4-6 weeks, and I guess all the junk that was plugging up the leaks was either flushed out or dried up. I guess if I hadn't spent the money on a new radiator, I would have foolishly spent it on some other old tractor part. Such is life in the world of old tractors

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Irish made, fits, good quality, decent price, excellent service. I don't recall the exact price. A bit under $130.00 for radiator, gaskets and shipping.
