Carded while buying Sea Foam

I had to show my ID to buy Sea Foam at Tractor Supply the other day although I'm 56 and look it.
Cashier said it was because of the chemicals in it.
Anyone else had to do this?

Never been carded, but the cashier if they do not know me do look at me to make sure I am not a minor if in a big box type store. The register at the checkout flags it when it is scanned, and they have to verify the user, but for us geezers they usually just look at. You may have had a new checker, or you should be flattered that they thought you were younger.

Must be a TSC thing. I was asked for my birthdate when buying spray paint while there. I think the cashiers have to enter the birth date in the register/computer, like they can't see I'm over 21. Company policy I guess, CMA theory in full swing.

Be flattered Ray, I bought a can of spray paint yesterday and the cashier looked at me an said "I can assume you are over 18". Which I guess is a great improvement over "should I get the power buggy for you to get to your car".
Oh well, I was just glad I could still walk my 2 miles this morning.

Opp, just reread Mike post and Ray's response and realize Cub 1all might not be a Ray. So either way have a good day.

I ask why they don't have an "old coot" button, on the register! Ed

TSC asks for zip code to learn where to place new stores.

It has Isopropyl alcohol in it so I guess some kids make hootch out behind the barn or something.
Here is a discussion I found on Sea Foam. http://www.yotatech.com/f116/sea-foam-d ... th-160614/
Next time I go in TS I'm gonna take my AARP card with me. That'l do it. VIP treatment!

Of course the cashier can tell you're over 21!

The problem is that cashiers used to just punch in 11/11/11 any time they sold anything to an old phart. It was real easy to sneak one of your underage friends through with some beer or huffing material by just punching in 11/11/11.

The computer keeps track of the dates they use now, and the cashiers get fired if they just punch in random dates.
