aftermarket throw out bearing
Well I ordered an aftermarket throw out bearing (35 dollars) from the Case dealer, parts man says they sell lots of aftermarket with no issues , the Case part would have been 82 dollars. Did I make a wise choice

That's probably due to the $50.00 difference in price. As Ed said, marinate em for a while He does have a way to turn a phrase doesn't he

I hope it does not have the wax paper wrapped around the graphite on the inside

I have changed several of the imported ones, found the graphite just falls out in one big piece

I confused , if it wrapped just unwrap pump with grease and drop it in the grease can, I would think it would absorb it

Jack:
IIRC there were TOB's that had wax paper in between the graphite and the retainer. That is what Boss is referring to. If the wax paper is between the graphite and the retainer, the grease will not wick into the graphite as it breaks down.
Post a pic of the TOB you get as well as the P/N. Hopefully the bad aftermarkets have left the market place. I would prefer a good quality CaseIH TOB .. only have to do it one in my lifetime .. but sometimes our budgets just don't allow that kind of expense if a reasonable quality one is available for less than half the price.

Cheapest grease you can get. It melts down, better, to penetrate the bearing. Grease it, in the future, with the same stuff. Ed

Re: aftermarket throw out bearing
are the edges round or square , is it a bevel around the edge of the graphite or is it square is a better question I guess. The IH ones have the bevel
