My starter for some reason is missing the tag. The rivets are there the tag is gone. Is there anyway to get just the tag?

Suppose Steiner sells a metal stamp kit also. I'll check their catalog and website tonight.

Thanks

I like this one - it's Made in the USA http://www.steinertractor.com/ABC511-blank-starter--generator--distributor-tag-for-6-volt-delco-remy-with-2-rivets.

Now where does one get the stamp set, with something close to the correct font?

Ken,
Check with a local armature / automotive electric repair shop. I'll bet that they have a pile of junk starter cases and can probably find one exactly for your starter. It's a pretty common starter, used in just about anything built in the 1950s/1960s. If you want, I've got a local shop I use all the time, and I can check with them. Just let me know.
