Freebird kindly directed me to a couple of web sites to try to answer my previous question" What does the letters WL stamped into the ser. plate of a 50 cub mean" but I couln't find anything. Does anyone have an idea of what they designate?
I'm a new cub owner and new to the forum and am totally enjoying both. Thanks again, Al

If the letters are after the chassis serial number, rather than the engine serial number, they normally identify optional equipment. The L normally means High-Altitude cylinder head, but I don't know what the "W" stands for. There was a "V" that stood for Exhaust Valve Rotator Attachment according to the TC-37F parts manual.
