Used farmall cub prices?????? whats up

Ok I been keeping busy resting like my doctor told me too. I been browsing the farmall cubs just browsing really looking at parts and prices. I'm seeing borderline cubs needing total restorations plus parts, these aren't complete too. There going for $2,000 and up. I didn't see a decent looker in the bunch. They spent years outside and neglected. There not even barn fresh.

When I found my 1952 fcub with a fresh rebuild, 4 New tubes and tires, plus two new back rims, New battery, plus f & r wheel weights with all the cultivated for $1,500 a few years back I wasn't sure if I did good or not. She was running and working.

My point is what's a fully restored fcub really worth today? With what I'm looking at for $2,000 and up I wouldn't part with my fcub anyway but I'm thinking a restored fcub would be worth between $3,500 to $5,000. Let's face it if it's restored correctly it should run forever, at least another 60 to 80+ years right? Am I close price wise or not?

Where on the brink of sitting on gold.

Most of the ones I've seen, discounting the crazy people, have been less than the prices of years past.
If anything, I'd say the prices are dropping, kinda like the gold you mentioned!

Prices are down , and have been for some time. Where have you been looking? Watch for what they are selling for NOT what they are asking for

You can ask anything you want for a Cub. What they sell for face to face when the deal is done is a different story.

With ebay you will know the selling price but it has few complete tractors. Touch control tractors will sell for far more than a manual lift. Implements will affect the price.
$1675 including mower

Here is a $1500 runner. Less than 200 hours on engine.

It also depends on how far one is willing to travel. Is the seller in a bigger hurry than the buyer? These took less time to find than to post. Firefox wouldn't let me copy. Had to switch to IE. They are out there just takes looking. :D Vern

It's what you're willing to pay for one. I bought my 48cub with a 42woods and a blade 18 years ago for $2000. A lot of people said I paid too much, but I was willing to pay it and the PO was willing sell for that. Since then I've had to buy 2 lawn mowers at $1000 a pop, the first one is shot, and the new one may last another 10 years, but I'm already doing more maintenance and spending more money on it than I do on the cub! Prices are down. But when you are looking in New England they have a premium. The ones with a good price are snapped up quick, leaving the high priced ones.

Same thing here higher priced cubs are sitting for weeks even months. Lower priced snapped up within hours or a couple days. I saw a cub yesterday morning listed before breakfast for $1050 unknown year need some cosmetic work smoked unknow year with nice looking woods belly mower and I believed a howard rotavator. Had someplace to be and went to contact seller late yesterday posting already deleted assumed sold. I was interested in rotavator.

The mower and rotovator together was well worth the price. I would have been on the phone right then and made arrangements to meet after my appointment or changed my appointment if able.

When I found my running 154 with the 3260 mower with the 3pt hitch for $800 I couldn't get it on the trailer fast enough. The engine was just rebuilt for the original owner. Even with my fcub they wanted $1,800 at first but I showed him $1,500 cash. I left with it quickly too. She still had silicone on the gaskets from the re build.

The prices I'm seeing today aren't what I seen a few years ago. Locally here it's tough. I know we have to move quickly with $$ in hand.

Yup, some are asking crazy prices. The one I posted about that looked like a Pony still hasn't sold and he has dropped the ask a couple hundred. I think he is going to have to drop it a whole lot more before it gets sold.

Those who price it right usually sell the Cub pretty easily.

You don't see the ads for the cheap Cubs because they are already sold. The good ads don't stay up long.

I've been trying to sell a '57 Lo-Boy with Fast Hitch here for $1650 without much interest. I'm about to pull the FH and drop the price to $1300 to move it. I can sell the FH later.

I re-read the title and had to laugh.... thought about what a new Cub would cost??? Just can't imagine. They just don't make stuff like that anymore. Of course, they would have switches and relays and all manner of other stuff so 'shake the shifter' would not be necessary.... however, troubleshooting the loose wire would be difficult.
