Since getting myself in a bind with the guys Farmall with no oil pressure, Ive took a liking to these old tractors..Today I called about a 47 farmall 4 19 Q Says it runs and drives..Good metal He is third owner...Needs painting and will start and no smoke Has very good tires on rear and fair on front. It is manual lift...He says it had very clean gas tank and only a couple of small dents..Fenders look good...He said at one time the clip that holds governor broke and it ran wide open Price is 1100 Is this a fair or good or even bad price..He said it would be easy to restore

$1,100.00 if a fair price for a running tractor - again depending on a number of factors such as location, availability, condition and PO's desires. The one thing that concerns me is the governor and the part that broke. Which one might it be in the parts breakdown below?

or is it one of the clips for the rod?

If it runs, no smoke, no cracks/welds, no holes in the hood or tins, good rears, fair fronts - yeah it is worth $1,100.00 easy. With a TC would be worth a couple hundred more but a good well balanced hand lift works well too :!:

Ok, then that shouldn't be much of a problem. Granny was like that .. bailing wire holding up the governor connecting rod.

The Touch Control wasn't offered in 1947 IIRC but was offered as a field/dealer install. My '47 doesn't have a TC but there is one on the shelf for Granny when I get around to it.

Could be a Circle Cub with that born on date. Do you have the serial number?

Herbie:

A Circle Cub is the very first almost 4,000 or so Cubs built. They could be identified by the Circle Cub decal on the front doglegs.

Hmmm .. seems bailing wire is the universal duct tape of days gone by :D

no hydraulics, governor patched up, seems a mite high to me.
