John *.?-!.* cub owner wrote:I noticed they said the cub was cute, but did not describe you.

You're right, John. And the reason is that when girls look at me, they are speechless. I assume that's because they become overwhelmed with admiration. You know the old saying - "Things get better with age" , and at this point in my life, I am approaching magnificent!!! Al D

I spent 2 hours crusing up and down the road yesterday looking for some action. All I got was a beer can thrown at me. :? Must be something wrong with my Cub.

Yeah, the only woman who said my Cub was "cute" was the one who bought it for me in 2009. At that time, she'd been my wife for 24 years! Last weekend we celebrated our 28th! :D

I can only hope some of ya'll's wives don't read this post...

Ricky - I don't think there's anything wrong with your Cub. Were you sitting straight up in the seat, with your pants up around your waist and your shirttail tucked in? The worst thing is to be slouched over the steering wheel with your shirttail half way up your back and your belt way down low, exposing what I call "plumber's cleavage". That scenario is worth at least one beer can being thrown at you, (Hmmmm - by any chance, that can wasn't full, was it??) Al D

My Cubs and my Cub Cadets are chick magnets.

Whenever our Cubs or Cadets are running, our chickens come to see what we're doing, and if we're going to turn up something for them to eat. They love it when we're plowing or tilling. I have learned that if a chicken is in my path I don't need to stop because it will get out of the way just in time. I've never hit one yet, but I've come close. I guess this is where the term "playing chicken" came about.

am i the youngest here??? im a ripe 32 years old and i just love old stuff as compared to the cheap throw-away junk made today. some of the people at work actually pick at me for having such an old machine but the new stuff just doesnt have the prestige of a farmall tractor. seems like people seems to like the sub compact tractors like the jd desiels, kubota, and my boss has a kioti. i work in a milk receiving facility so i see allot of truck drivers they come in and talk about whatever tractor they are using. well truth be told my cub will probably still be running well after these sub compacts go out to pasture. besides, i absolutely refuse to spend $15-$20K on something that will do nothing more then my 60 year old cub does and does well. my cub doesnt have power steering, and doesnt have a 3pt hitch but so what. it was 1/10th the cost of a modern sub compact and it has allot more character and prestige. it was also 100% american made...every nut, bolt all made here. i was talking to one of the drivers who said she just bought a tractor. i ask her, what do you buy a kubota? i responded, no i bought american made tractor, a john deere. i just laughed and told her that it's hardly american made like my cub was.

I'm sure I need more than just a motorcycle or Cub to attract chicks to me. Evidently showing my umm...cleavage isn't working for me.
