Ah his username is 'Country' Elliott - surprised our search did not find it w/o the quotes. Found it on Google about seven pages deep. I will find it.

OK I think i made a mistake or at least misslead you. The story written by Arizona Mike / Mike in Arizona about Country Elliot.

Well - I'll be darned if I can find a story by Arizona Mike - Lots of talk about Sun-Dried Possums and good fun - Mike mentions County Elliott a lot in his ~1,700 posts - A search of all of Mikes posts don't show (that I can find), anything about holes in the Floor Pan.

I gave it a good effort. It was fun....seeing what was posted so long ago....

Ken go to the home page and in the middle down a ways you will see stories, look for 2 holes.

One question answered, begets another question asked. What was the implement that never made it to production. Two Holes is a good read.

There is no known use for those holes aside from drainage? It has been a topic of discussion for years and Country was one of the first to make it humourous. Ifn you can't figure out what it is for, make it up

I always heard they were there to use when planting to see if the seed is dropping. "Heard" is the key word....don't know how much truth there is to that.

I've done an awful lot of planting with the Cub. I can't say as I've ever been able to see seed drop through those holes. If the Two Holes story on our home page is the truth and it seems believable - I'll use the holes for my mystery implement that they were allegedly designed for. The mystery continues.

That is the most common belief, and it made sense to me at first. However, the Cub is only a one row planter, so why would you need two holes?

How true - If there isn't cork in them - we keep bolts in them all.
