Hell week cub style

So I have still not gotten to the bottom of the stalling issue on my buddy's 48. So I figured I'd help him out and carry my pretty 49 cub over to get it done. I just did the crank seal the other week so she was in tip top shape so I thought. So I get over there after dark take off the cub 22 and put on the woods 42. I'm testing the belt and it's perfect . So I push in the clutch to shut it down for the night and it keeps going. That's when I knew something was wrong. So I shut it down and one of the pins holding the clutch fingers let go and was laying on the deck! WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST!!!!! So tomarrow I will start over and I pray it goes better

I thought everything was going pretty well; I upgraded cub "Nussie" to 12 volts and added: an alternator (without having to cut the hood ), & electronic ignition. Got a $25 battery from Interstate battery, Custom wired her up flawlessly pulled the starter and the SWEET feeling of a plan coming together was upon me .

Little did I know, that sweet feeling was accompanied by a sweet smell that looked green on the edge of the radiator fins. Guess I will get some stop leak for it and hope this radiator does not steal the rest of my thunder. Oh well, there are worse things

I put some credence in my 'flat tire' hypothesis.... it helps some (lots??) when something goes wrong. Essentially it goes like this, you have a flat tire and you can whine and cry and curse your 'bad luck', but none of those things will get you where you were trying to get. Make the tire round, get over it and move on. Possibly, you could have been flattened by a semi truck if the tire hadn't been flat or some other unfortunate outcome.

At least that's what I tried to think when I pushed the clutch pedal in and realized I missed a very important step..... crashed the new TOB into my new clutch Teach me to be 'proud' of myself for getting it all done and put together (even the headlights were on), when I never put a 5/8" wrench to the pedal adjustment bolt. I did the usual mental check of everything; cotter pins, wires, bolts and for some reason the biggest 'thing' never crossed my mind.

It was pretty tough to admit to Boss Hog that the TOB he sent me has chunks gone missing.

I got it split again and luckily Ed D had a new one in stock, not only did he deliver it (across our new toll bridge) but he called ScotLem (a very talented mechanic) who happened to be on vacation. We got it back together in short order. And Scot adjusted the governor control that's been a PIA for a while. Ed brought fresh corn and tomatoes. Things don't get any better than that!

Off to mow the fort today, heck it was raining last weekend when I was going to mow anyway. So it all works out in the end.

Well I'm going to be back at it tomarrow. I got most of the mowing done with my other 49(2 cubs still broke) i would have finished but the mower belt got to flapping a little on the guard and every Time I made a turn it would sputter for a second. Then it got to where it would not run the mower. I'm thinking I have some trash floating around so that will be the first thing I take care of and tightening the belt of course
