bendix carb

Postby Bamacub » Wed Sep 18, 2013 8:52 am

Anyone ever saw a cub with a bendix carb. A older man came by my place asking about fixing his cub carb. I have not saw the carb, but he sez it has a bendix carb. The cub is a 1976. Thanks for any help.

I find it unlikely that he has a Bendix carb on his Cub. All the Bendix carb references I can find are for Harley motorcycles (other than the Bendix aircraft carburetors from WWII era).

Oops. I stand corrected.

Thanks Eugene, I did go look at the tractor & its does have bendix on it. Tractor serial # 248329 sez its a late 1975 with increased hp, so the zenith would be correct. Anyone know of a good sourse for good carb kit.

Thanks for posting this Bamacub. I was gonna ask the same question. I just brought home a '76 yesterday and was scatching my head on "Bendix" being on the carb. The fuel line looks perfectly bent for this carb and everything else on the tractor appears very original. I can rest easy now. :D

I would like to see some pics of the 2 cubs please. The needle and seat, and bowl gasket can be bought at about any Case/IH dealer. Most kits you buy from parts places will have the wrong bowl gasket if it is an original carb with 4 screws holding the two half's together. If it is the replacement carb with 5 screws anyone will have the correct kit.

I have a 1972 Cub 185 that has a bendix carb on it. Same as the zenith, it says bendix on one side and zenith on the other.

Here are a couple pics of the carb, Boss. I only find four screws going from the bowl up to the top cover.
