Country drive yields a set of back tires, rims and centers

We went out for a drive in the country yesterday and stopped to look at a cub for sale. The spare set of wheels look like they were ready for a Halloween festival; not sure how they ended up this color but the price was right and they fit in the back of the truck. They are original and make for a good first project in the electrolysis tank (thank you Rudy for the tons of info on that process).
Dave

ps you may also notice that a dryer drum can be re-purposed to an IH table (not complete yet). We could use it for a planter, table with cooler / bar inside) time will tell.

Thanks David. It doesn't hold a candle to that trailer full of goodies you found. :D

Those wheels and tires may have come from a Power King tractor. Certain models used the exact same front and rear wheels as a Cub. Power Kings were orange and black at one time.

Good grab Dave, are you sure the seller wasn't a Bengals fan? You weren't traveling around Ralph's and my part of the country were you?

Thanks for the info Matt.
Bill, The area we were in might have been more prone to a black and yellow set.
Then again, based on how our team is doing there are no plans for a Browns cub either :D

Dave, I agree with Matt, those wheels and tires probably came off a Power King. I bought a power king awhile back that had a nice set of tires and rims. After a good cleanup and a little IH red and white paint and those wheels now reside on my Cub. The Cub tires and rims are proudly sported by the Power King. You can't tell the difference between the two different sets.

Thanks for the feedback Rudi & Roy.
Has anyone performed electrolosys on the rear centers and rear rims here?
The rear centers are stampings right?
Anybody worry about hydrogen embrittlement?

Dave:

I haven't done the rims but definitely the centers. We did those at CubFest Northeast 2006 as one of the demonstrations.

Hydrogen embrittlement? In a little electrolysis tank? Not likely. At times this procedure gets overthunk. Pretty simple and straightforward.
