:help: If I paint the steering column before assembly should I expect that installing the lower seal keeper will damage the paint? Is it possible to oil he seal and slide the assembly over the paint, without causing damage?

Ken we're looking forward to it. Been remodeling the downstairs bathroom this week. Tile on the floor, new toilet, and converting an antique dry sink into a vanity with a vessel sink. On top of that making molding for the kitchen and the bath. I need a break.

Make sure the vent hole in the filler cap is open or the oil will leak out the seal, new or not.
