Postby Redpower » Mon Jun 06, 2005 7:27 pm

Thanks everyone for helping me restore my family Cub. It was bought in 1948 by my uncle and was being used to mow the family place till it was given to me in late 2004. Thanks again for all your help and insite. Check here http://webpages.charter.net/gwallace0026/wallaceg.com/Cub.htm for history and restoration pictures. Hope to see everyone here in Lebanon at the Red Power Roundup in July.

George:

You did an absolutely fabulous job on that Cub. I am sure that you aunt will be very, very happy. You have a family heirloom of which to be inordinately proud.

Btw, I like the rest of your home page.. very interesting!

That is a excellent job...well done!! I too have a 48 Cub my Dad gave me for fixing his 49. I'm in the process of fixin it up now.

Excellent Web page too!
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Hey George...WOW, what a GREAT story about your Cub and its restoration 8) . You've done a beautiful job :D . A "Family" Cub has a lot of meaning to it. I'll bet, as you worked on her, you sensed that you had a lot of "inspirational help" from your dearly departed family members! The end result is a job I'm sure they're all very proud of!

Miller Tire

Postby Redpower » Tue Jun 07, 2005 10:42 pm

cubguy47 ask a question about Miller Tire. They are a great resource for old equipment tires, rims and misc. tire stuff. You can see their catalog at http://www.millertire.com/ The rear tires on my Cub were in pretty good shape but looked awful. The tire paint they sell did a really good job of making them look almost new. They also had the old style brass rear tube protector. You really need to get the catalog because a lot of their stuff is not on their online catalog. They will be at the RPRU and will bring tires and stuff to help save on shipping. They will be at many other shows in 2005 which they list on their web site. Thats where I got the original looking firestones ($45.00).
