Farmall Cub

I need a good Source for 6 volt sealed beam lights for a 57 cub.Just the bulbs. These are the flat back lights and the bulb has the Tab attached. Thanks

The actual replacement sealed beams are sold by antique tractor suppliers but will cost you about $30 each. Those will be a direct replacement for the OEM sealed beams. Myself, being the cheap son of a gun I am, I adapted off the shelf Wagner #4511 ($9.00) sealed beams to use in my flat back lights. I plan on keeping this Cub forever and don't want to shell out $90 to replace the sealed beams if I ever have to replace them all again.

If you can get the sealed beams for $30, you should buy up as many as you can.

Last I checked they were $42 and up.

I did some surgery on one of these bulbs a while back, and found out that there's nothing "sealed beam" about them. It's just a normal bulb glued inside a reflector housing with a lens over it.

The bulb could possibly be replaced with some careful work.

My 1953 cub also had the sealed beam lights. After the sticker shock for 3 new ones, I bought the tear drop lights and changed them. The bulbs are only between $1.50 and $2.00 when they go out.

I need to replace some bulbs on my 1956 Cub and found that a headlight reflector is available for this housing. It apparently converts the pancake light to accept an inexpensive bulb.

I ordered three Wagner 4511 seal beam lights today at $9.00 each from O'reilly's Auto.Will be here tomorrow. Thanks again guys.
