This summer, my daughter and I took a little trip and came home with a McCormick No. 100 Manure Spreader. Here's what it looked like when it arrived home:
After 3 months and 2 days, here's what it looks like now:
Fun project. Thanks to Bob McCarty for sending me spare apron chain to replace the ones I broke! Couldn't believe how much my '47 Cub had darkened over the 4 years; both it and the spreader were painted with Case IH 2150 red.

Fantastic restoration! I need to spend some time with my stuff the way you do.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Stanton, I think you need to fill and empty it once just to make sure every works correctly.

This is what I was thinking. So what are you planning on doing with it? Or is it strictly a trailer queen?

Mighty fine work, there, Stanton. A question on decals, which certainly makes the spreader look spiffy. Are they per original, and where did you get them? Color scheme is also interesting, is that also something you looked into and have figured out? I like the blue.

It'll be for show only. Our chickens don't produce THAT much manure! :lol;

Did a little research on the decals and found there were two basic sets available. One was the old looking "McCormick-Deering" style with black background and gold trim and the vinyl cut "No. 100" in black (to make it look like a stencil). The other was a more modern looking "IH McCormick" top decal with a white "100" in a circle below. Same safety stickers with both. Personally, I liked the older style. It was what is on the Owner's Manual drawing for the No. 100 Spreader that resides on Rudi's website.
Bought my decals at Carter and Gruenewald (http://www.cngco.com/Search.cfm), but you can also see both sets at Binder Books (http://www.binderbooks.com/ih_implement_decal.html).
The blue paint is from Westlake Ace Hardware. It's implement paint called International Blue; has a great adjustable spray nozzle in an extra large 15 oz cans. See an example here: http://www.shopjfi.com/industrial-suppl ... paint.html. Just $4.99/can at my Westlake Ace store.
