I would love to make a Cub Fest! That would be a lot of fun.
No joy on the Cub today. Cranked fine but wouldn't Fire. I'm not positive it was getting spark, we had to fiddle with
the points last time to get spark. I didn't have a whole lot of time to play with it today.
I'm not real sure it has the right carb on it, as the oil filler cap can't be removed with this carb in place. And the carb flange is bigger than the intake flange that it bolts to. It did run a couple of years ago though, so I know that it will work when the stars are all aligned properly. I took some photos, will post some later when I get them sorted out.
I brought the carborator back home to go through it again.

There are several others further away. It all depends on how far you want to travel. Many members get a motel room and stay for both days when there are multi-day fests. You'll be glad you attended.

Not great shots, I know, but that was as far as I could push it out of the shed with armstrong power alone. That's my 86 year old dad in the top pic.
The carb is a Zenith, on the inside top half is stamped ER2-209.

Arthur, that is the carb that was put on Cubs in later years. It is also the one that was used a replacement when the original older carbs went bad.

Several different versions and modifications. Go to TM's homepage (link at the bottom of this page or from the forum front page) and click on "brochures" on their menu. There are several listed under various names. Good place to browse on a rainy day.

The first thing I noticed was the reversed final drives for the long wheelbase. I then clecked the steering wheel. Now I also see what looks like an hour meter, a common addition on government owned machines. Can't see it very well, but the center steering arm appears to be the ball joint type. I think I can see the shift lever for the left side speed reducer, can't tell on the right.

Looking on the TM brochure list, I see two that relate to the highway mower versions: Customized Cub Lo-Boy and Cub Lo-Boy Steep Slope Mowing. This tractor has some features from each of them. I believe most highway tractors were sold under a contract with the tractors built to the contract. Evidently, they did some pick and choose among the special features.

Dad told me that the guy he bought it from said it had "a bunch of extra speeds" but he never figured that part out.
That huge steering wheel is a big pain. It's right up in my face almost, way too close to me for comfort as I sit in the seat. There seems to be no way to move the seat back. Dad says that is one reason he never used it much, the steering wheel being so close that is.
I have a few more shots I could add.
And yes, I think it does have an hour meter.

Arthur, you definitely have a keeper. Those are a bit more rare than regular Loboys plus it looks to be in excellent shape.
