Wiring diagram #5.
Eliminate the wire from ignition switch to terminal #1 on the alternator. Eliminate the wire from the Bat terminal to terminal #2 on the alternator.

A volt meter gives a better idea of how an alternator is working than an amp meter. Amp meter is best for a generator.
