differences in the 194 plow beam

Here are my finding on the 194 plow beam, as shown in photos. The 1F194 is about two lbs heavier than the L194, on the bathroom scale, Kind of hard to weight so it could be plus or minus. the 1F194 beam is longer and the 1F194 does not have a sharp of a twist on the beam as the beam on the L194 but the 1F194 is not perfectly straight.

I can see right off the bat that the curve or arch on the 1F194 is less pronounced as it rounds down to where the plow attaches which instantly clears up any questions I had about the angle. You can see that 1F194 you would start off with more of a down angle than with the Cub L-194 which is the exact problem I was having when using the L-194 on a Super A. On a cub it was fine but on the super a it was maxed out and that was barely enough by the time the plow hit the ground. In semi compact dirt it would skid up and ride across the top instead of sucking in but when I used it on sod I was able to turn it over. This is a really good post because I had wondered about this even before I had the Super A.

[Super A]

I just picked up a 1F194 I am going to use with my Super A. This post is exactly what I was looking for! I am assuming (you know how that can go!) that the 1F194 decal looks just like the one shown above except for the text of the decal? Does anyone have an original they could take a pic of for me?

My plow has what looks like a Plow Chief share that has been drilled to "fit." The spearhear point is worn out. I think I am going to see if I can find a complete Super Chief bottom to go on it.

The 1F194 plow I have doesn't have a decal on it so I can't help you there. I switch to a 12" bottom on it and it pulls nice on my high crop cub.

I beleive that the 1f-194 plow should read LF-194, the L stands for loboy. there is a difference in the plows as you mentoned the twist. The super A should be a 14" plow. Using a 12 " plow on a super A will not plow correctly. I supose with some setting the real wheels in to the narrowist position and fudging with the debth controle and drawbar tilt the 12" can be used on a super A.

Couldn't the Super A version have a 16" bottom as well? I haven't measured mine but that's what it looks like.
