Yesterday morning Bonnie and I picked up my mother and met Darrell and Janet in Lancaster for breakfast. I was really excited because Darrell wanted to test his new 8.1 version of the Cub Finder. The dot one version provides updated support to allow you to zero in on specific implements. Darrell knew I had been looking for a set of cultivators and thought today would be a good day to check it out. After a hearty breakfast at Trader's Cafe we hooked up the Cub Finder and set it to find Cub Cultivator. It had barely had time to warm up when it started to give a faint beep. Then my Garmin told me to turn 180 degrees and started giving directions. I forgot to mention that version 8.1 upgrade of the Cub Finder links to the Garmin via bluetooth. We followed the directions and pulled into a farm lane. And would you believe sitting in the barn was a 1953 Farmall Cub wearing a spiffy set of cultivators. Along side of it was a really nice complete 193 plow. There was even a Barnyard Bash fuel stick in the tool box. Steve the fellow that owned the tractor had attended the Cub Tug last summer in Somerset.
We had a nice chat and checked the tractor out. It is a good solid honest Cub. After some brief haggling the deal was made and it was time to go back to Darrell's house to pick up the trailer. We still need to do a little more work on the Cub Finder to tweak the new implement filter. But overall we are happy with the results.
