the front has two large rust holes by the lights. Not visible in this picture. It's not horrible, just doesn't look that great.

Rust holes or broken out spot welds from the front mounting brackets? Not uncommon and not that hard to fix.

Nice looking Cub. I think I'd try fixing any rust spots before replacing the whole hood. Then again, just leaving a Cub in its work clothes and making sure it's mechanically fit may be the way you want to go too (many do).
