Just fitted a pulley to the PTO on my '48 Cub. There is a whine from the gearing - not sure if that's normal? Oil is up to the mark within the pulley casing. There was no particular noise from the PTO shaft before fitting the pulley.
Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Could be the pto bearing.

the pto bearing has its own grease fitting, not lubed by the trans oil, try greasing it
