Hello...Got a set of turf tires with the 54 Cub I am currently restoring...Thought I would try this year putting the Turf tires ( and new rims ) with chains on my original family 57 Cub for plowing snow. I had been using AG tires with chains. My thinking was more chain contact to the pavement. Worked like a CHARM!!!...I don't think the wheels slipped at ALL tonight plowing the snow from the Clipper storm hitting the East Coast....Just thought I would share the results of my experiment...Tom

Re: Turf Tires and Chains
That is a great looking machine you have there. I have chains for my turf tires too and they do work well. Looks very similar to what you have done. Too bad I did not get to play in yesterday's snow. Someone on this forum suggested I let some air out of the tires for even more traction. I did not do that yet but it seemed to make sense giving more contact with the ground. Enjoy the rest of the winter!

Re: Turf Tires and Chains
I have never seen that type of chain on a cub. But, the only tire chains I ever saw on a cub were my Dad's, and they were on regular tractor tread tires and had huge rings in the chains.
The turf tires with those chains look good.
I'm pondering on the idea of using turf tires with chains instead, because the tractor tires tear up my yard when I mow. Maybe I could just use turf tires with chains when I need the extra traction?

Vern, I can see all but a few inches of the plow on the right of the picture. It shows to be 640x480 so that would be how the picture was taken.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
