Embossed letters on hood sides

Postby desoto » Mon Jan 27, 2014 1:02 pm

I saw a Cub for sale on local craigslist, it has Embossed letters for Farmall Cub, in a recessed area.

This is something I had not noticed before on other Cubs, just curious, what years offered this style hood sides ?

Thanks, and have a great day !

:D

Can you post a link to the picture of the one on craigslist so we have an idea what you are seeing?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

He is probably looking at this cobbed up mess. That style was made from '54 to '58. The "embossed" letters are actually a stainless steel nameplate under layers of paint.

If the entire snowplow is with it, it might bve possible to negotiate it down to it's value as a parts tractor.

I notice it has an interesting alternative to the labor intensive gas tank-hood combination. However it isn't very stylish. I agree Jim. If it were near me I would be trying to negotiate it down to a parts tractor price. I see it has the depth lever for a fast hitch. That part was pretty hard for me to find for my 56 Cub.

that's my favorite hood. The emblems are stainless on a white background. They would probably clean up.

This is the listing that I saw, it looks like the letters are in a recessed area, rather than on a plate.
Maybe it's an illusion in the photo.

I agree, seems like a parts tractor at best.

Thanks guys !

That model of Cub had a recessed area. Here is the hood on my 55 Cub.

I didnt know that the Cubs also made a good chicken roost. But judging by the pics, I guess they can. Wow, is there anything a cub cant do.
Tractors are like watermelons: the RED is good and you throw away the GREEN.
