Power angle Phase I
Rick, Hope you get these pics! We had quite a time getting these on! I kept getting a notice that the file was too big. You sent me as much or more, so I don't know what the problem is. My daughter shrunk them down somehow? ? ? I don't like the short hoses! I ordered them the right lenght but then with the fittings they grew. And the hose is alot stiffer than I thought! Oh well ! Hydraulic Greenhorn! I will someday get those shortened or run tubing. [img]
[/img] Made another mistake today. Got a weld on tractor link bar end to attach the cylinder to. It measures 2" and the yoke on the cylinder measures 1 1/4 " Guess I will make a bracket out of some 5/8 or 3/4 " stock. Later Denny..........- Attachments

Re: Power angle Phase I
Denny, it's looking great!! Very nice installation! I can't wait to see the finished product and the way this winter has been going, you'll probably get a lot of use out of it yet this year.
The tractor link bar ends you got may work. TCP had to grind down the ball sockets to fit his clevises, maybe that would work for your application too. I copied his quote below. Only you will be able to examine what you have and decide if it will work for your application.
Anyway, you've got the hardest most time consuming part done. It won't take to long to mount up the cylinder and run the hoses and you'll be good to go!!

TCP wrote:I welded everything together and got the plumbing mostly done today. I just need a few more fittings and different length hoses because I changed my plan for the hydraulics. I used a couple of Category 1 lift arm ball sockets to make rod ends for the cylinder mounts. I used a Cat 1 stabilizer arm for steel stock (less than $10 for a 2" x 1/4" steel bar 32" long - it cost $5 less than a piece of 3/16" in the hardware department) and cut a radius in the end of the bar with a 2-3/8" hole saw and welded the ball sockets to the bar. I had to use a 1" x 1-1/8" x 1" bronze bushing, and grind the ball sockets so they would fit in the cylinder clevises, but this will act as a swivel joint to provide a little flexibility without being loose. This pic shows the cylinder mounts points and cylinder dry fit.

Re: Power angle Phase I
Interesting plumbing. Have you tried your Touch control to see if it still works properly? Does your remote valve have a power beyond connection port, or just an out/exhaust port along with the IN port? If no power beyond port it must be an open center remote valve. Looks like you didn't need the hydraulic block adaptor plate next to the TC. This schematic was a godsend for me when I was doing the remote hyds. on my 55 cub.
MY Mistake I went back and looked at your photos again and think I can barely see your elbow fitting coming off the bottom of the adaptor block. Nice that you did not have an under slung exhaust to work around.

Snowman... Did you happen to get that blade from a guy near Pittsburgh, PA? The reason I ask is that it looks really familiar and has a band of rubber under the wear edge on the blade. If so, that rubber probably came from me! I got it from a friend in Iowa when I was living in Wisconsin and it does a GREAT job of protecting blacktop from scoring when you are scraping the snow off of it!
Also, if it is the same blade, it is REALLY a small world!

Oh Hengy, you have a keen eye! When I saw that plow and chains , I reacted immediately! I did get this from a guy around Vandergrift. I had a home made plow, but had some issues with it. I am SO glad I picked this I - H Grader Blade and Plow. What a difference, I don't need a football field to turn around in. My front tires used to rub on the old plow frame. I just finished my project today.(Power Angle) Everything works Great! The valve I used is an Open Center .

Re: Power angle Phase I
Yes Dan , there is a very compact fitting there. The regular hydraulic fitting would not go! It hit the side of the TC . I debated on grinding some of it off, but didn't like that idea the more I thought of it. Went back to the store and got the smallest fitting that they had. It is a brass street ell, guy assured me that it would take the pressure, guess I will find out.

Re: Power angle Phase I
Right now I would have to plow my yard! Is that acceptable? Looks like we have a typical February on its way , according to the weatherman! Snowy week next week. Hopefully I will be pushing snow left, right and straight ahead!
