I spent part of the day in temps in the teens hooking up getting the trailer hooked up and the rest of the load on it and some things in the truck. Gotta take the pup to the kennel at 7:30 in the morning and then throw a couple more small things in the truck and ready to roll. We should roll through Birmingham around 5:00 and into Dothan about 8:00.

My daughter and her husband are moving in to house sit and take care of the bigger dogs tomorrow while we are gone. So we know they are in good hands.

Safe drively everyone and see you there!

Not looking good for a Thursday departure from here. I loaded the Cub last night and moved it down the road to a friend's place so I wouldn't have to pull it up the hill in our neighborhood.

My wife doesn't want to leave the house if the power is off. Most people don't want to be at the house if the power is off.

I know the kids are safe with the dogs around

I have been trying to catch what ever I can about the weather along I-65. Some reports say freezing rain while others say 2" here or 6" there. It sure makes it hard to determine what is going on. I am almost ready to throw in the towel and stay home rather than risk getting stranded in an unfamiliar area.

We're the same way here, Bill. I could be talked out of it easy. With Candy's bad hip I keep giving her an out and she keeps saying all she would do here is sit around.

It was -17 yesterday morning and about -10 right now so we are having a warming trend.  Another hour or so and we'll be on the road.

Denny, the truck is loaded. All we need to do Is drop the pup off and go back to the house to grab something to eat. Should be on the road in about 9:00.

I managed to make it just south of Macon. Thought waiting a bit would be better than hitting the road early but looks like temps are dropping through the morning so gotta get further south before that. Right now only rain.....

See you soon and be safe out there!

Looks like the east coast is going to get pounded this weekend, beginning today. You guys be safe, especially if travelling to DSCF. Carolina's, Georgia, Philly, and DC are supposed to get ice and snow, something like 10" Friday in the DC area and more the further north you are. Something like 2900 flights cancelled throughout the east.

Whatever you guys decide to do, please be careful! There'll be another DSCF next year, and we'd love to have you all still around then to attend!! Please don't get yourselves in a situation that puts you in harms way.

We got between 4 & 6 inches, depending on where you are, here in southeast NC. It quit last night but it is sleeting/freezing rain now. We didn't have school yesterday nor today, too soon to say but I am betting we won't tomorrow either. Looks like we might be having our spring break now; we missed 4 days for the storm week before last.

Everyone be safe and have fun. I hope to see lots and lots of pictures. In the meantime, this snow cream is not going to eat itself....
