No oil pressure

Postby Pault » Sun Feb 23, 2014 12:41 pm

Hello all. I am getting ready to clean my field for the new growing season and went to start my 48 cub and I do not have any oil pressure reading on the gauge after changing the oil and filter. Can anyone please comment on this problem?

Oil pump lost it's prime. Common problem if tractor sits for a long period of time.

Solution: Remove cap to oil filter housing and oil filter. Inside oil filter housing, towards engine front and down about 1 inch is an opening. Put about 1/4 cup of engine oil into the opening.

Crank engine over with out starting until oil begins to flow out of the opening.

Edited for spelling.

This is the hole Eugene describes.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

After changing oil and filter, it normally takes around 30 seconds to build pressure the first time.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

make sure to pull all the plugs, and undo the wire coming from the coil to the distributor, use a oil can with pump to shoot oil in the passage make sure to use the same oil you have in the crankcase, turn over with starter til oil pumps from passage
