Hello all,
I don't know how many here get the red power magazine, but ours came today. I was rather pleased to see a nice article about some of our cub items, but mainly about my sisters cub. :D
We were at Lima, got there late, basically for one day so we might have missed talking to any of you eastern cubbers, wouldn't know what you look like anyway. Anyway my dad got to talking to the red power magazine guys, and a one Todd Markle same over and started talking to my sister about the cub stuff. I did not think much of it till mid Jan. he kept e-mailing her for more info pics, etc. After all of that we were kind excited and eagerly waited for the next issue to come.
I think it is nice article not on just our cubs but just as much so as getting younger blood into tractor collecting. Not that I am an old collector, most of you would call me a young pup (I'z jest 34) but I declare, that average age at some of the shows near us it probably about 60, give or take.

Anyway I thought it neat and told Hannah I was going to put it on the farmallcub site, which she jokes is the Facebook for old guys.

Thanks,
Russel Foster

WOW !!! What a nice display and article ! What day were your there ? I missed seeing your display. I like how your family is collecting and restoring the FAST HITCH implements. Having a working setup with the 4-E Hammer Mill is a great idea ! I think your daughter is right in saying that more of the younger generation would be interested if we had more active displays.
I have been building up a collection of CUB implements that I eventually wish to display as well; are there any that you are looking for that we could help find ?

Glad you liked the article.
We got there late afternoon on Friday so basically just the day on Saturday. I am not sure what else we are looking for right now, as with most it depends what the bank account will allow. :( I think we have most of the IH fast hitch implements, 184 planter, disc, plow, two way plow, rotary hoe, spring tooth harrow, 100 rear blade. The only other IH one off the top of my head is the peg tooth harrow. She also does have the FH Howard rota-vator. We might be interested in some off brand FH items at some point in the future. The FH Prewitt post hole digger of I would like a FH buzz saw. Then again more items more $ and I don't know how I would get them al to a show.

I just posted a short video of us running my dads no. 30 corn sheller.

That is one of the reasons events like cubfests and demonstrations at shows are so important. It is a way to pass knowledge down to the younger generation, and build interest.

I'm one of the younger ones too, at age 39. There are lots of older collectors that have forgotten more than I know.

My RP finally came today. I really enjoyed the article. I think it is spot-on about attracting new/younger individuals into the hobby. DEFINATELY got to find myself one of those #30 shellers......
