Is Napa p/n 2134011SW the correct alternator?

Postby kjoiner » Sat Mar 22, 2014 10:51 am

Hello,

I'm going out to get my existing alternator checked. If it's no good I want to get the correct one wire alternator. Someone posted p/n 2134011SW and I want to make sure it's the right one. I looked for the recommendations by Boss Hog but never found the post with the part numbers.

Does anyone have part numbers for Advance Auto, or Auto Zone? All that shows on their sites are the fancy chrome plated ones for over $100. The NAPA one is about $44.

Thanks!

Kyle

After your alternator checks out as faulty, just ask the old guy behind the counter for a replacement.

He or she will probably not even have to look up a part number, just grab one off the shelf.
I have an excuse. CRS.

There's the problem Eugene. Very rarely do you see an old guy behind the counter. At least not around here. Some young kid will ask you what vehicle it goes on. You tell him and he looks at you with this blank stare and you knew you shouldn't have wasted your time in the first place...

Thomas

That's exactly the problem. My NAPA store's tester is broken so I went to AdvanceAdvance and watched the guy fumble with the tester for 20 minutes and then get help. He also said he had to have a part number before starting the test. He had no idea what a one wire alternator was.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Buy the NAPA one it charges at a low RPM , the others often do not, the # is 13-4011 SW

Hello,

I got the NAPA alternator and installed it. It charges great, as soon as the tractor fires up and even at low rpm. Thanks again for the help!

Now the only question is whether it will kill my 20A ammeter. If it does, I'll get a voltmeter or reinstall the 60A original that's pretty beat up but should still work.
