To comment on your question gww52, the best way would be to buy another Touch Control block with the parts in it, complete, that you know works right, if possible. My opinion. :)

After taking a closer look this morning I think a new block is the only answer.
The crack is 3/4ths of the total length and it looks like it is very thin from the reservoir side.
