SMV plate holder from Europe???

Postby Patbretagne » Fri Jun 24, 2005 1:47 pm

Hi all!
I remember recently that someone asked how to fix a SMV plate to CUB.
Could perhaps Monsegnieur Macormique de Paris have found the answer in 56?

So far I have seen what I can only assume is a factory made fitting for French Cubs to hold the registration plate opn the LH rear side of the tractor, there are 2 holes which attach to the fender near the top and a third right at the bottom that attaches to the bottom left PTO (triangular(well nearly!)) cast mounting plate. The bracket without the number plate is 51cm long and is very firm and solid in use. Just one point where the top hole is the metal is welded double thickness befor being drilled out.
If needed I can give more precise details.

Pat:

Sil-vous Plait mon amis. Would it be possible for closer pics, some measurements, guage etc?

Interesting.

Judging by the almost signature twist in the strap - similar to battery box clips, it just might be.... but confirmation from the archives would be helpful..

The license plate is original.
The curved strap and everything.
The tab with the hole in it at the top is for a light.
I have the same plate holder on all of my French
Cubs. It is also in the parts book.
