here are a couple things that came with it...I really like these old links to the past... some of the names of the shops are long gone I'm sure and its really neat to have writings by the hands of the original owners

Tim, if you go into the Cub Forum you will see your post. The "Moved" icon only indicates it is now elsewhere. You can post to it from the Cub forum now.

The serial number tag is the correct one, it just has all the other lettering worn away as noted in another response.

Surely a demo... but judging by the picture of the Cub someone did a good job of painting the top half... and myself I would leave the paint alone. Especially if you plan on using it. I am not all that crazy about white Cubs, but some folks are and you surely have the evidence as it sits, so the 'value' is still there.

Why Thank you Buzzard Wing...that someone was me...here is a couple pics from the first day of ownership...

I had no clue about the white Demo's until I read something here...

thats when I put the brakes on and started looking into this...

I love odd ball stuff the more Unique the better I thought owning a Cub was in that category all by itself, now its to another level altogether and if this is truley a Demonstrator I'm very Lucky and proud to have it...this is the first tractor of any kind I have ever owned...

I absolutely will put this back to where it once was to help preserve this piece of past farmall history...

The funny thing is is that I WAS WARNED about farm tractors...naaaw I said, one is ok I have lots of old stuff to restore as it is (did I mention my 41 dodge Power Wagon )

well I bought this tractor cause I intend to work it and I like red Farmalls!

well guess what... looks like I'll be in the market for another LOL

Welcome to the forum. You can still use a demonstrator, but if that's your excuse, justification for needing another Cub we understand.

LOL yup thats my excuse and Im sticking to it...wife already has rolled eyes to the back of her head like a shark when I told her this one will be restored white but I still really want a "RED FARMALL"

I read up on the clutch adjusment cause I had to tinker with the free play on mine and yes I agree the old style looked to be a pain in the tookus...still, having to go through that process most likely beats a team of ornery stubborn mules...

Wives can be like that at times. Tell her that once you get your red one you will start looking for a yellow and white one, followed by a red and white one. If she hasn't tossed you out by then, you can tell her you also want a long stripe Cub, a trimmed dash Cub and then maybe a Loboy or two.

well Barnyard...Looks like I better perk up and listen to you because with your list of "essential ) cubs,You obviousley know a few things about keeping the miss's happy...

A trimmed dash, from all indications, was used on a small range of 1948 Cubs before IH went back to the long ear dash. Here is a link to a page about them. http://www.savethecub.com/dash.htm
