251428R1 is the OEM fan belt for the Cub.
B28 & B29 are standard 5/8" section V-belts. One is 1/2" shorter in circumference, one 1/2" longer than the OEM belt.
That would mean basically 1/4" up or down on the location of the fan hub, at most.
The OEM belt would have to be ordered, even from NAPA. I can get a B28 or B29 from Tractor Supply.
Is there any reason why I wouldn't want to use the standard belt?
BTW: This is just a thought exercise. I already ordered the correct belts from TM Tractor.

I don't have an opinion about which belt to use except that either will work. Interestingly when I used NAPA's cross reference with the number 251428R1 it comes up with NBH 2524308 (31.45") which is somewhat different than a B28 (31") or B29 (32") and about twice the price.

1/4 inch may be the difference between the fan hitting the shroud or not. I think too long will get you in more trouble than too short (assuming you can get the fan low enough to even install the short one.

Yup, I've got all the crosses.
Unfortunately, none of the NAPAs have one in stock, and all three CaseIH dealers and the Gates belt place are a bit of a drive. So, I gave TM Tractor the business.
