I recently bought a cub. The serial number is 12909. But the casting number on the engine says 12. 30. C
The engine serial number is 13553. Could the C be a Q Any thoughts? Thanks

Re: Help with serial numbers/ casting#
My thought is that the C is actually a Q which would fall in line with the serial and engine numbers and I'd bet there is a 1 before that 2 making your casting code actually 12*30*Q which would be about right with the serial numbers. They're hard to read sometimes due to a bad casting or someone a little to heavy handed sanding off the paint sometime in the past.
Edit; Ignore the 1 comment I thought I read that the serial was 2*30*C

Not a problem. Sometimes we have to "think out loud" to figure it out. Glad you got it and I could confirm it for you. Welcome to the forum by the way.
