There usually isn't much out west here for tractors parts, implements or other antique items compared to east of the Mississippi.
But once in a blue moon something like this pops up…

Cub backhoe with a articulating leveling blade.

I'd say that would probably sell better this side of the mountain.

This one is my favorite.

Uhhhhh beats a shovel I guess. But I sure would like to see someone sitting on it in the backhoe operating position. I'm sure the block is out of the seat post and you swivel the seat. So it looks to me like you would be operating the levers between and below the level of your knees  . That's gotta be good for your back  . The muffler and tailpipe have to be from some car with those bends that just happened to be close enough in size to fit over the exhaust.

So, looking at this picture:

It appears that it runs from the Cub's hydraulic pump with an aux reservoir. Wonder how fast and powerful the boom would be on this setup?

Does the pump have enough guts to run this? He says that it has been working well for 20 years.

Neat mod!

I didn't see any weights on the front of tractor or side stabilizing braces. Any heavy digging, the front end of the tractor would be off the ground.

Would the backhoe work? Depends on what the backhoe was utilized for. Light sandy soil, should work. Heavy, rock infested soil - not.

Think the outfit is worth the price. Put the backhoe on a bigger tractor and then figure out what to do with the Cub.

I think that it does have lateral-rear stabilizers on the backhoe unit itself. That bumper looks to be solid plate steel, doubled. That has to have some weight to it. Trying to figure out how it is mounted to the front of the tractor...

Mike. Correct on the stabilizers and front bumper.

That's what the big C-clamp is for.

Would we call this one a "Cubscavator" because it has a blade like a mini-excavator instead of a loader like the famous "Backhoe Cub?"

This guy actually has two listed, the other has a three point hitch set up. I might call him just to go check it out.
No I'm not in a position to buy but I did get to the point on my 47 where I'm putting it back together. I might go see if he has any parts or implements. :D

As far as the digging, this area is an old sand dune so he probably never had a problem.

Yes I've always liked this one too, very nice and clean job on it.

Not sure what kind of blade that is, but neither the blade or mounting hardware appear to be from a cub, plus when I enlarged the picture a little I am pretty sure that is not a cub hydraulic pump. Appears to have an adapter plate, with one line coming out the bottom of pump, and other out the top. Quite a bit bigger pump body than original also.

I think it looks pretty fancy. If I had 3-4 cubs I would like that set up on one.
