May be fun but way too messy. A local tree service has a tree cutter which clamps the tree, cuts it off with a horizontal circular saw and stuffs it into a chipper which blows the chips into a truck. I have seen it chip a 12 inch tree, pine but I think it could do hardwoods. It's also fun to watch. For clearing a power line this would be ok. Who cares about the mess. Wildlife might like it. Vern
