Came across this gem while cleaning out my Grandpa's barn. Thought some of you may enjoy it! We still own the tractor today.

Just for the sake of comparison, this is an invoice for one I used to own. Purchased within days of yours.

These old docs should have their own place on the website.

i bumped into someone who remembered using my Cub when he worked for a local farmer in the fifties, and I know where it went from there, what I do not yet know is if the farmer bought the Cub new or was a second owner, but it was great to find its lineage back to the fifties at least.... Three maybe 4 owners including my Dad for many of those years.....

really this thread is about inflation and how irresponsible our government has been in the last 30 years. in 2013 dollars $702 equals $7300 so this goes to show how bad inflation really is, these little tractors were expensive back in the 1940's. i doubt you would have seen too many of them in private hands being used for yard chores like you do now.

i wonder if wages have followed the same curve. sure wages have gone up but not to compete with inflation

I'd like to see the original cost for a Super A (or regular A) around the same time as a Cub. How much more expensive was it? Was that the reason that the Cub sold better and for longer than an A? For true Farming, the A was such a better workhorse than a Cub with more HP and weight than a Cub. Just wondering what the difference was in cost?

F-A, AV, B, BN. List price $1295.
F-Super A, AV. List price $1420.
