Hello
I'm helping a friend work on his 65 lowboy and noticed on the fan pulley
there wasn't a lubrication screw to fill the reservoir
is there a way to lube the pulley?
Howard

Re: Low boy fan question
the ones with out a screw had sealed bearings, so no oil needed.

Re: Low boy fan question
How long do the sealed bearings last?
Most of the non grease able sealed bearing when there new didn't have enough grease in them. These are smaller ball bearings. We would pry out the plastic seal with a pick very carefully and install more grease in them. On some spindles we would drill and tap a hole for a zero fitting in the spindle and remove both inner seals on the bearings so we could feed them from the grease gun every so often.

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

My first Cub has one with sealed (?) bearing. Made me crazy trying to find the screw, that didn't exist.
In general, there is nothing you need to do to it and it should last forever. As Big Bill says you can carefully inject grease into it, but if I recall it's tough to get at the seal/bearing in place.
