Engine / gearbox interface

Postby UK-Cub » Tue Oct 14, 2014 3:36 pm

Sorry I hijacked - asked this in someone else's thread.

Is the Cub engine / gearbox interface a standard SAE?

All the threads on a US Cub are SAE except for the spark plugs which are in mm. I don't think there are any other oddball fasteners, although there are a few unusual sizes that can be hard to find.

Hello Bob,

My query was about the flywheel housing, wondered if it was on this list?

Question. Is flywheel housing the same as bell housing?

I don't know the answer. My long deceased uncle use to be an engineer at the Louisville, KY facilities. Sure wish I could ask him some questions.

There are some SAE bell housing charts on the internet. Most require measurements to determine which or if you have an SAE standard.

I have never had an occasion to measure up a bell housing.
I have an excuse. CRS.

David, I misunderstood your question and I can't answer it. Maybe one of the engine guys will know.
