Yes. Put the tractor inside. It has seen enough outside abuse in it's life.

If you need to you can store your wife's car or cub in my barn. I'll make sure they get used too. You know, just to keep the battery charged.

To get back to a more serious answer to the original question (if that is what you want), It can be stored outside, and if used regularly will have very little affect on the mechanics. You will need to drain the transmission and steering box on a yearly basis and refill them with fresh oil due to rain seeping in and condensation. If it has a magneto (they are more prone to moisture problems than a distributor), I suggest wrapping it with plastic. I have found bubble wrap to work best. It can be left on while using it. That being said, the biggest thing about leaving it outside is cosmetic damage. The finish on the paint will fade faster, birds will roost on it, leaving their calling cards, and any imperfection in the paint, minor scratch, etc. will rust much sooner. Also any bolt threads will rust in place much faster unless you used antiseize or grease on all of them when you reassembled it. The advantage to parking outside is the dust will get washed off on a regular basis.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Ha Ha Ha , Some pretty funny stuff. I did throw a tarp over it for a few days but quickly learned that is not a good idea. It stayed very wet under it even if we had no rain and just a heavy dew. The stinking township here wants all sorts of crap and permits to just add a small roof off the end of my tool shed . I am now looking at one of those tent like el-cheapo carport things. I just dont know how well they do in high winds, we get a lot of wind here.
We have had some 20 degree temps already this year and the old girl kicked right off after all night outside. Not to wax morbid but I am 70 now and I feel the old Farmall will still be fine long after I am gone shelter or not.

A guy at Wenger said all there good stuff comes out of the Northeast because they have to put their equipment inside because of the weather. When we lived in the suburbs. The car was outside, the Cub was inside. You got to look after the old folks.

I bought one from Menards, and got the sidewall kit as well. As long as you put the guy ropes in that come with it, it will do stand up to some serious wind. If you don't use the guy ropes it will twist up like a pretzel.

I advocate for storing inside if at all possible. The first two years we had the farm, we didn't have any buildings to store equipment. In the winter, I'd keep the Cub in my Dad's garage in town, and then haul it up to the farm in the Spring. It would sit on the farm all summer, with only a tarp over it. From a mechanical standpoint, I don't feel there was any ill effects... It was just during the summers... But I sure didn't enjoy evicting a family of mice from the battery box!

Closed garage is best. Open shed not much better than outside. Tarping is the worst thing to do unless there is air circulating under to remove moisture. Been there, doing that. If you go the cheapo route, be sure to put down a moisture barrier (plastic under gravel etc.) otherwise will be just like tarping unless ground stays very dry

I wondered about that too. It looks like those two pieces as well as the radiator cap were drawn on the photo.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

The garage-in-a-box type shelters are a step above the canopies with the sidewall kits. Rather than separate pieces, the canvas is all one piece including the roof, sidewalls, and doors. You can get them anything from an el-cheapo Harbor Freight type to an expensive ShelterLogic version.

Cheaper ones don't hold up to snow. You have to keep on top of the snowfall and not let any build up on the roof or it will collapse.

The attachment cubmuffler.jpg is no longer available

That made me chuckle :) also noticed some touch ups to the axle and blade. Envisioning future projects?
