Headlight - Internal Wiring

I'm working on a '49 Cub. The hood I'm putting on had no headlights but the wiring harness has a single wire on each side for left and right headlights.

When I got out my box of spare headlights I realized I had two types. The first type has two wires coming out of the back of the socket. One appears to be a ground to the inside of the housing.



The second type has a single wire coming out of the back of the bulb.

Which type should I use? I have at least two of each type.

49's had the single wire fixture. Either type will work as long as your mounting provides a good ground.
